CALENDAR ITEM: POET SANDRA BEASLEY TO GIVE READING AT MARYMOUNT UNIVERSITY

Washington, D.C. poet Sandra Beasley will give a reading at Marymount University on Friday, March 26, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the Lee Reception Room of the Reinsch Library.

Beasley is the author of I Was the Jukebox (W.W. Norton, April 2010), winner of the 2009 Barnard Women Poets Prize. Her first collection, Theories of Falling, won the 2007 New Issues Poetry Prize. Honors include a DCCAH Individual Artist Fellowship, the Friends of Literature Prize from the Poetry Foundation, the Maureen Egen Exchange Award from Poets & Writers, and fellowships to the Sewanee Writer's Conference, VCCA, and the Millay Colony. She is now working on Don't Kill the Birthday Girl: Tales from an Allergic Life, a nonfiction book forthcoming from Crown.

This event is free and open to the public. The Reinsch Library is located on Marymount's Main Campus at 2807 North Glebe Road in Arlington, VA.
