"READING DANTE BETWEEN THE LINES"

Marymount University's Bisson Lecture in the Humanities will feature guest lecturer Dr. Jo Ann H. Moran Cruz, dean of the College of Humanities and Natural Sciences at Loyola University, New Orleans. Her lecture on "Reading Dante between the Lines" will be on Friday, March 26, at 6 p.m. in the Reinsch Library Auditorium on the University's Main Campus - 2807 North Glebe Road, Arlington. This event is free and open to the public.

Before becoming dean at Loyola, Dr. Moran Cruz was an associate professor of History at Georgetown University, where she was the co-founder and former director of the Medieval Studies program, directed international initiatives, and worked to establish Catholic Studies. She has also served on the faculties of George Washington University, Vanderbilt University, and Boston College.

The Bisson Lecture is named in honor of Dr. Lillian Bisson, professor of English at Marymount University for 40 years, who is retiring at the end of the 2009-10 academic year.
