New Student Advising and Registration (NSTAR) Information for Freshmen

There are several actions that you need to take before the fall semester begins.

Preliminary Action: Register to attend a Summer Orientation Session – SOS 1, 2, or 3

NEXT STEPS

STEP 1: Directed Self-Placement – complete your Directed Self-Placement online before your SOS date. However, please review all of the following information before exiting to complete your DSP.

STEP 2: Class Registration – plan your fall schedule and enroll in classes.

STEP 3: Advising at Orientation – attend SOS to complete the advising and summer orientation process.

Now – a look at each action in more detail.

Preliminary Action: Register to attend a Summer Orientation Session – SOS 1, 2, or 3

All freshmen must attend an orientation session. Three sessions are scheduled over the summer. If you have not already registered for one of them, please do so now.

SOS 1: Thursday and Friday, June 24 and 25
SOS 2: Sunday and Monday, June 27 and 28
SOS 3: Wednesday and Thursday, June 30 and July 1

When you are registered for an SOS date, proceed to Step 1.
