The Peer Mentor Program was established in Fall 2005 so that current, upper-class students could ease our new first-year students' transitions, by providing a peer resource. Peer mentors are there to help new students learn more about Marymount, answer questions, plan activities and help new students get connected to their new community. Peer mentors assist Freshman Seminar instructors in a variety of ways.
Each peer mentor is assigned
to two sections of Freshman Seminar. They attend their Freshman Seminars
and participate in them in a variety of ways. They can serve as a resource
both in and out of the classroom for these students. They also help organize
other first-year experience activities.
